Orginally founded in 1962, Castelgarden became leading manufacturer in Europe of lawnmowers, and merged with Stiga, Stiga Belos AB, Mountfield, one of the most well-known lawn mower brands in England, and Alpina Professional & Garden SpA, manufacturer of chainsaws and brushcutters also situated in Italy.  Together they formed Global Garden Products (GGP) with headquarters in Castelfranco Veneto. The GGP Group is specialized in the development, production and marketing of mainly lawn mowers, lawn riders as well as hand-held powered garden equipments.
In 2008 Castelgarden presented a completely new layout of its catalogue Green Passion as well as totally new product typologies, like the tiller range, and useful accessories for Castelgarden tractors and front mowers which extend their use to all seasons.
